How much does membership cost?

All-Access membership is $82/mo and The Essentials membership is $38/mo. The only additional costs would be for some select premium events (Think going to a pottery studio or class blowing or an escape room), but there will be plenty of non-premium events included in all-access membership.

  9. Give back to our larger community in ways that nourish your soul

Is this for a specific age range?

No, just over 18 (though some events could be 21+). We see value in having relationships with women of all ages. A lot of us are from other places and have all sorts of life situations, so it's lovely to have intergenerational relationships, where we might not otherwise. Plus, age is just a number, you might find you have things in common with both Someone 23 years old and someone 53 years old.

What does the name RiverHouse mean?

I've been inspired by the river for a long time. It used to serve as a gathering place for women of all ages to wash and do laundry. More than just chores, women would find connection, support, wisdom, joy, and so much more at the river. And since it was a place went frequently, they forged deep bonds over time.

We don't have many places like this anymore, and I believe it's time to bring back a deeply connected society vs. the isolated one we live in now.

What area is this in?

The first clubhouse is in Arvada, CO.

The goal is to expand and have multiple clubhouses or groups across different areas of Denver and then to other cities like Fort Collins and Colorado Springs. Some will have a physical clubhouse space, and some may not depending on membership.

Is the clubhouse open? What are the hours?

Yes, our Arvada clubhouse opened mid January 2025.

As our club hosts are volunteering their time, they create the monthly schedule a few weeks before that month begins. We don’t have set hours, but that also means we can be flexible to member needs!

How will payments be accepted?

Through a secure portal via Stripe.

How long do you have to commit to membership?

Membership is month-to-month, no commitment. We just ask that you give us 14 days notice for cancellation.

Are there refunds?

No unfortunately we cannot issue refunds if you can no longer commit to the cohort or the monthly membership. In specific, extenuating circumstances we may make exceptions. Please reach out to hello@riverhousesocialclub.com.

Is this a non-profit?

No, we are an LLC. This allows us to be more sustainable long-term, though we may establish a not-for-profit organization in the future to further our mission of connecting women.

How accessible is the clubhouse?

The first clubhouse is unfortunately in a building that has stairs and no elevator. The ideal situation was to find a space that would be accessible but a lot of the spots I looked at were older and grandfathered in to ADA exceptions. We are prioritizing this for our second space. Our Essentials membership gives you access to our online community and meetups we do outside the space.

Can I help out/Volunteer?

Currently we're not set up for that, as we are an LLC and wouldn't want you to volunteer your time for free! We will have opportunities in the future to exchange work for a membership when the need arises.

I'd like to partner up for a workshop/event/pop-up shop/etc.

Great! Please fill out our vendor interest form here! Once we have a need we will send out emails to collaborate! https://forms.gle/uL7xVpd6UGkTNyou8

Who started this/is running it?

I'm Kelsey (she/her), 31 years old, originally from Sacramento, CA. It's just me for now, but I'm excited to bring in all kinds of amazing people to collaborate.

I've had a vision of starting something like RHSC for over 7 years. I'm an only child and I've moved around a lot in life and have struggled to find deep connections and community ties as an adult. I went to church with friends as a teenager and was always impressed at how connected people seemed there. Church wasn't for me, but I've been seeking a strong community like it since then.

Eventually I joined a sorority in college thinking that was the answer, but never felt like I could find my place there. Then moving to different cities I went to events to meet people (and even lived in an artist commune in LA - where I did in fact find solid community), but it was sometimes hard to maintain new connections (like at what point are we friends who can just go into each other's fridges without asking?)

Anyway, all of these experiences led me to creating a space where women can connect deeply, not have to awkwardly mix and mingle at events, form friendships over time, and find support for the challenges of life.

Oh and if you're curious, I have a business degree from San Diego State, ran a photography business for 3ish years, have been an entrepreneur at heart for almost all of my life, knowing I wanted to create something that changes the way society operates.

My Dad runs Community Shop Class in Sacramento, CA so community building is in my blood!
